Amateur Radio

I hold the callsign G8LYB. I am not very active at the moment but I am often listening to the local 70cm repeater GB3ME.

I enjoy design and construction. Sometimes I even actually finish a project.

My local club is the Rugby Amateur Transmitting Society I can often be found there on a Tuesday evening. Visitors are always welcome.

The Rugby Amateur Transmitting Society has been selling a lot of ASCOM SE 550 radios!

Originally designed for use in a trunk radio system, the units supplied by the Rugby Amateur Transmitting Society are supplied programmed to work in the 4m (70MHz) amateur radio band.

 

Frequency range           68-88 MHz

Channel spacing            12.5 KHz

Mode                           FM

Antenna                        BNC 50W

TX Power                    25W

Deviation                      2.5 KHz

DC Power                    Nominal 13.2V (10.8-15.6V) (RX approx 1A, TX 6.5A/25W)
